Looking for a 360 degree view on your well delivery process?
Digitalization and automated well planning have improved the well delivery substantially over the last couple of years. The technology behind Oliasoft WellDesign has played a key role in order to improve the wells even further.
February 16th, Oliasoft presented our solution on ONS Technical Sessions 2021. See our presentation on how Oliasoft WellDesign is improving well delivery by enabling a digital environment for your wells and sharing data with other systems.
The goal of our software, Oliasoft WellDesign was to gather all well design calculation into one integrated software solution.
All calculations from the Well Trajectories, Casing Design, Torque and Drag, Hydraulics, Tubing Design and Blowout & Kill. An integration of all of these calculations allows for both optimalisation and automation, which will make a huge impact on the well delivery process.
The well construction calculation chain contained many authority required calculations, and as of today these are solved by using a wide range of different software packages - also including third-party external companies.
Since Oliasoft was founded in 2015 the focus on digital solutions has massively increased. Since we built the software solution from scratch, we were able to take advantage of the new possibilities that comes along with modern software technology.
Reduces frequency of manual input
Like most automation initiatives, the removal of manual input handling will reduce the risk of human errors, improve the efficiency and enable optimal well designs.
Oliasoft WellDesign is built with fully open APIs allowing for connection to any third-party software operating within the drilling and well value chain and beyond. Both other service companies and also operator’s internal system.
Oliasoft WellDesign is a core engineering engine fully capable of both receiving data and sending data without any human interaction in this ecosystem of software.
The free flow of data provides the engineer a 360-degree view on the well delivery process.
The cornerstone in a digital mindset is openness.
Openness to any player in the well delivery process. Oliasoft WellDesign is the first well construction software allowing for close collaboration with all players to improve the overall performance.
This cloud-based web application makes it possible for all parties involved to work on the same data. Both the engineers, at the office and offshore, rig companies, service companies and any third-party companies or systems, and even the authorities are able to share the same data, knowledge and good ideas. The well designs are available anytime, anywhere and on any device.
Most of the major operators has a digital road map for drilling and well, where autonomous drilling is the overall objective. In order to realize the digital future, all necessary building blocks must be made.
But how do we do that? By supporting and mobilize resources into modern technology. Instead of believing that technology from a different age, that suffers from technical limitations and major legacy issues, can solve the obstacles everyone now is facing. Almost all the existing technology within drilling and wells are struggling to solve the digital use cases of tomorrow, where most are due to the great difficulty of transferring data to other systems for optimal and alternative use.
This is to highlight the three aspects of how Oliasoft Well Designed is improving the well delivery substantially.
- First and foremost, this is a well planning tool solving the entire well designed calculation chain in one integrated solution, enabling automation and optimization.
- The open API's which allows for integration to any third-party system, which is essential in order to develop a fully digital environment.
- The third aspect is the software’s ability to connect to real-time data from the drilling operation. All design calculations can automatically be updated based on the operational data, to monitor and to make sure that the operations are safe within the industry requirements.
This will bring planning and operation closer together - all to improve the delivery of our wells.
